21 July 2011

Connected World magazine has named ASL Holdings Ltd the 2011 winners of the Value Chain Awards. Receiving the highest award given in the Energy category this year.

The award accredits the efforts of ASL Holdings Ltd in the energy area and the development of innovative products for the utility sector, particularly for smart metering. Telit obtained the Enabler Award for its efforts to realize the joint solution.

The Connected World magazine Value Chain Awards praise successful businesses who have adopted M2M technology. Alongside the solution providers in this case for ASL, Telefónica O2 and Telit Wireless Solutions, that made their success possible. The awards recognise the process of combining multiple technologies to create a winning solution for the end customer.

Our solution uses GPRS M2M technology and flexible contract management in order to increase scalability and reliability. Whilst still reducing operational costs and restrictions on usage for utility metering communications in de-regulated energy supply markets. Our use of GPRS increases the yield of data being transmitted across the network for businesses as well as increasing reliability by 30-40% lowering the cost of the airtime provisioning element.

Iain Warner our Business Development Manager at ASL speaks for the whole of ASL saying “we are very proud that some of the most important M2M experts recognize our efforts for the energy sector. With our help, energy suppliers will be able to continuously monitor data relating to their customers’ usage and therefore improve their products and services.”
